Expertise – Duroplast (close)

The material Duroplast is experiencing a Renaissance in the automotive industry. Not least due to the revolution that it faces in the course of digitalisation, electromobility and autonomous driving. ... Read more

The increased requirements, especially in power electronics, mean that Duroplast is being used in ever more application areas. Especially with regard to hybrid components, such as overmoulded PCBs, lead frames or sensors, it is increasingly displacing thermoplastic as a bonding partner.

Whether phenolic plastic or aminoplast, whether epoxy or polyester resin-based compounds, the properties are highly superior to those of thermoplastics, particularly with regard to strength and long-term use temperature.

In the past, however, the disadvantages always outweighed in the processing of this plastic class. This ultimately led to the spectrum of use of thermosetting plastic in the automotive sector stagnating in past decades.

The biggest challenge in processing remains and has always been process capability, irrespective of the type of Duroplast and the process (incl. injection moulding and pressing). The tool plays an absolutely essential role here.

We offer you a technically highly adept Duroplast tool, tailored to the desired process and material, that is holistically and perfectly coordinated in its individual functional units to provide you with the best possible results.

The corresponding mechanical, rheological and thermal design of the tools is based on our years of experience and the diversity of the successfully concluded Duroplast projects.

We deliver injection moulds ready for series production with initial sample test reports.

Our services revolving around tools

EinlegerSimulation:
We can carry out injection moulding simulations internally with our complete package from SOLIDWORKS Plastics.
Rheological and thermodynamic predictions can be provided for both crystallising and networking plastics with regard to filling and warpage.

Technical centre and series parts:
With our new Boyke turntable transfer press, we are expanding our tool expertise in the field of Duroplast to sampling and series parts.

Measurements:
It is possible to generate initial sample test reports and series measurements.
There are 5 coordinate measuring machines from Zeiss, 2 GOM systems, a multi-sensor measuring machine and a CT scanner available to this purpose.

Reverse engineering: Should you not have any or only unreliable design data at your disposal,
we can thus offer you reusable CAD data through measurement and restoration.

External tools:
Through many years of experience, we are also capable of offering maintenance, replacement parts, repairs and changes for external tools. This is also possible without existing data.

Service:
For tooling and injection moulding technology, we offer you training seminars, commissioning and process accompaniment.
This also outside of Germany on request.

Fast and precise redimensioning

In close cooperation between our technical centre and our measurement laboratory, we can redimension your injection moulding tools according to your wishes and quickly adjust them. With corrective grinding for dimensional and mould technology improvements, we can make your injection moulding tool ready for series production in the shortest time possible.
